Reboot Combat Recovery

Four of our members, Justin Fiew and his wife Michelle, Art Blackman, and Larry Asher are starting a ministry to help combat veterans and their families heal from the spiritual and moral injuries of war associated with post-traumatic stress and combat trauma.  Specifically, they are leading a 12-week combat trauma healing course called REBOOT Combat Recovery (REBOOT). REBOOT provides a unique blend of clinical insight with faith-based support for combat veterans and their loved ones seeking answers to defining questions about life, death, meaning, and purpose.

Childcare and a pre-discussion meal are provided on a weekly basis to remove barriers of entry for families seeking help. We encourage the participation of spouses and affected family members because we know that trauma impacts the entire family.

If your life group is looking for a way to say “thank you for your service” to those who have served, here’s a great way.  We have several ways you can serve and be the hands and feet of Jesus. The course will be held at FCCC every Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 pm from September 10-November 26, 2019. We anticipate 12-15 participants.

Ways to serve:

1. Become a member of the prayer team. Our REBOOT team will send you emails or texts weekly for specific prayer needs.

2.  Hospitality team member. Prepares or coordinates food and drink for each week. Sets up room and food, then cleans up and tears down after meal.

3.  Childcare.

4.  Socializer. This person welcomes guests as they arrive and talks with them during meals. Communicates with course participants outside of the weekly meetings to further build community.

5.  Mentor. Meets with one or more course participants throughout the week. Has intentional conversations before and after group meeting to assess members spiritual needs. Devote time to praying for specific needs  For more information, contact Justin Fiew at jsfiew@gmail.com, 765.274.8131 and plan to attend an informational meeting on July 24th at FCCC at 6:30 pm.
